Kamil Kuca is working for several academic institutes (University Hospital Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic; Florida International University, USA; University of Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, etc.). He is also technology scout working for University Hradec Kralove. His research interests are toxicology, pharmacology, drug design, nerve agent poisonings, CBRN, IT, vaccine adjuvants, technology transfer, pharmacoeconomy, chemical and biological terrorism. He was/is principal investigator on numerous national and international projects (EU, NATO, GACR, IGA MZ, MSMT, etc.). He has published more than 350 IF research papers. He is working with several companies as a scientific consultant. Ondrej Soukup obtained his PhD in 2011 at the University of Defence in Hradec Kralove. The main aim of the thesis was to characterize non-reactivating effects of cholinesterase reactivators as the antidotes against organophosphorus poisoning. Postdoc has been done at the School of Biology, University of St. Andrews, UK and at the Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Currently, is employed at the Biomedical Research Center (BRC), University Hospital Hradec Kralove, is responsible for the development and test of new therapeutics for Alzheimer's disease and organophosphorus poisoning. Besides the scientific activity, Ondrej is devoted to the students supervising, teaching and he works as a deputy-chief at the BRC. His research is focused mainly on the screening of biological properties of the new compounds, prediction of the blood-brain-barrier penetration, interaction with cholinergic receptors, acetylcholinesterase and the determination of their cytotoxic and microbicidal effects. He is author of 34 papers with IF (11 × first author), and 2 book chapters. Current scientific data shows Hindex = 7 and 104 citations without autocitations.

Jan Korabecny graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy (Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic) in 2008. He finished his PhD studies at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control at the same university in 2012. Recently, he was employed at the Department of Toxicology and Military Pharmacy, Faculty of Military Health Sciences (University of Defence, Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic). He is currently the head of the Laboratory of Chemistry at the Department of Toxicology and Military Pharmacy and junior researcher at the Center of Biomedical Research (University Hospital, Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic) and at the National Institute of Mental Health (Klecany, Prague). His area of research is pharmaceutical/medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, and toxicology. His interests are neuroscience, especially the development of novel antidotes for treatment of Alzheimer's disease and organophosphorus poisoning, and anticancer agents.

Eugenie Nepovimova obtained her Master degree in 2013 at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralove, Charles University in Prague. She elaborated her Diploma Thesis within the Erasmus-LLP at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, University of Bologna. The main aim of the thesis was design and synthesis of tacrine-quinone hybrids as multi-target ligands in Alzheimer's disease therapy. Currently Eugenie is a PhD student at the Department of Toxicology and Military Pharmacy, Faculty of Military Health Sciences, University of Defence where she focuses on design and synthesis of novel therapeutics which are able to affect cognitive functions in neurodegenerative diseases. Since 2013 she became a part of a scientific group of the Biomedical Research Centre, University Hospital Hradec Kralove. Publications: according to WOS she is an author or co-author of 9 articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Blanka Klimova has had 20 years' experience of teaching English as a foreign language in all types of educational institutions (i.e., from pre-school to tertiary) and private businesses. She has MSc in history from CEU (Central European University) in Budapest, Hungary; PhD in English language from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic; and PhD (Associate Professor) in ELT pedagogy from Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia. Currently, she is teaching at the Faculty of Informatics and Management of the University of Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic. Her main field of interest is the teaching of academic writing, ESP, the implementation and use of ICT, and language impairments in dementia. She has published over 100 refereed journal articles, book chapters and conference papers. Furthermore, she is a member of the journal editorial boards; an editor of several scientific conference proceedings; and a court interpreter and translator.

Jan Honegr obtained his MSc in Pharmacy at the Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralove (Czech Republic) in 2007, PhD in Pharmaceutical Analysis at the Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic), in 2013. He worked as researcher at Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at Faculty of Pharmacy at Charles University in Hradec Kralove of California-San Diego (United States) in 2011/2013. Currently he is a Head of Lab of Pharmaceutical Technology at Biomedical Research Center, University Hospital in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, since March 2013. He works on development of novel vaccine adjuvants and immunomodulators affecting Toll like receptors. He works also on a development of novel dosage forms for drugs. He is author of 10 papers in peer-reviewed journals.

Teodorico C. Ramalho obtained his BSc in Chemistry from the University of Brasília in 1999 and his MSc in Chemistry from the Military Institute of Engineering (IME) Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2001. He received his PhD in Chemistry from IME and was a doctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute fur Kohlenforshung in 2004. After a post-doctoral training at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2005, he joined the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry. His research interests are in the areas of medicinal chemistry, quantum chemistry (QM/MM calculations) and catalysis.

Tanos C. C. França obtained his BSc in Chemical Engineering at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in 1993, MSc in Organic Chemistry at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), in 1998, and PhD in Chemistry at the Military Institute of Engineering in 2004. He worked as Visitor Scholar at the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of California-San Diego (United States) in 2012/2013. Currently he is Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Defense at the Military Institute of Engineering, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), since February of 2004, invited Professor at the Faculty of Informatics and Management of the University of Hradec Kralove in Czech Republic, since November of 2014, and Visitor Researcher at the Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, since September of 2015. He is also member of the Brazilian Chemical Society, since 1993, and the American Chemical Society since 2011. He develops research mainly on the design of new antidotes against chemical warfare agents and drugs against biological warfare agents using molecular modeling tools. Publications: 70 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 85 meeting communications, 1 edited book, 11 book chapters. Member of editorial board of the journals Military Medical Science Letters and Revista Virtual de Química.
