Na categoria da saúde, houve a presença significativa de profissionais do sexo feminino, menor propensão de ter filhos, recente mudança do local de trabalho e mais tempo de trabalho semanal e aos fins de semana. Ser do sexo masculino e ter idade mais avançada foi associado a menor presença de sintomas psicopatológicos, enquanto mudanças na vida, medo, frustração, solidão, raiva e aumento do uso de álcool e nicotina foram associados a maiores valores do GHQ-28 e a sintomas psicopatológicos. Ter filhos apresentou associação negativa com depressão, e cuidar de pessoas com deficiência está associado a escores mais altos de sintomas somáticos. |
Não houve um levantamento inicial que pôde calcular a quantidade de recusas à participação no estudo. A avaliação dos sintomas psicopatológicos limitou-se ao uso do GHQ-28 e, portanto, não se pôde registrar diagnósticos específicos, além do viés de resposta caracterizado no formato on-line da pesquisa. O caráter transversal do estudo não permite a inferência de causalidade. O uso de questionário on-line pode causar vieses de seleção e de respostas, limitando a generalização dos resultados. Um ponto forte desse estudo foi estabelecer a presença ou ausência de uma condição de saúde mental preexistente; deixar de fazer isso foi citado como uma limitação em vários outros estudos semelhantes. Dos participantes, 68,8% atuavam diretamente com pacientes com COVID-19 e apenas 3,7% relataram histórico de diagnóstico de algum transtorno mental. Sintomas graves de depressão, ansiedade, insônia, estresse e burnout foram comumente mais relatados entre os profissionais de saúde da linha de frente.
