The Rey Complex Figure and its importance a method of neuropsychological assessment

INTRODUCTION: The Rey Complex Figure is measures visuospacial constructions and non verbal memory, being used in neuropsychological research, not only on epilepsy but also on various different areas of neuroscience. RATIONALE: the aim of this study was to analyze the use of the Rey Complex Figure on neuropsychological research and its importance for the epilepsy studies of non verbal memory. METHODS: systematic revision of published literature on BIREME. RESULTS: The Rey complex figure is a widely used method across many different countries. The use of this method is not restricted to neuropsychology of epilepsy but it is also used in many different clinical situations such as Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders. There is also a quantitative and some qualitative analyses for the Rey Complex Figure. CONCLUSION: The Complex Figure is still used as a method of assessment of visuoconstructional abilities and non verbal memory.
