Perception of delay in rail transport in the european community

Due to the high degree of competitiveness among the sectors of transportation, based that the loss of small market share can mean the bankruptcy of enterprises, the study of the perception of delays has strategic importance to optimize transportation’ meshes as well as taking the decision by develop new meshes. This paper aims to analyze, through literature review, the concept used in new studies, emphasizing the model practiced in the Netherlands. Through the process of homogenization, ie, the adequacy to address the delay’s problems caused by the increased number of stations in a certain itinerary, if the network as a whole to be redistributed for a reduction from 21 to 37%. As a result, it is clear that the culture of the European community values the quality of care, being very sensitive to the risks and impacts of the delays. Consequently, this region is constant research and development of new logistics solutions.
