Hume: a teoria social como sistema

In his Enquiry on Human Understanding Hume proposes a rule of parcimony in the use of explanatory principles. This essay is an attempt to show how the philosopher managed to follow that rule in his writings on moral sentiments, history, politics and economics. At the same time, it explores the systematic character of the project described in the presentation of the Treatise on Human Nature.
