BOOK REVIEWS: A BRIEF STUDY OF THE LANGUAGE OF EVALUATION

Abstract

This article focuses on the language of evaluation present in book reviews. The corpus comprises twenty reviews of fiction books, published in non-specialized Brazilian magazines. In order to identify the kind of attitude expressed by the reviewer, the analysis carried out is based on the categories proposed by Martin (2000).
