This paper intends to contribute to academic discussions on literacy in the Brazilian context with reflections about rewriting based on dialogism and an ethnographic perspective. My intention is to articulate a dialogical perspective of language studies to an ethnographic perspective of writing analysis through longitudinal interactions around writing. Based on Lillis' (2008) concept of text history, I present a brief analysis of a text written by a college student as well as comments written by his colleagues.
