Let’s go to the ball: swings of communication and participation in Zapatism

Since 1983, year when it was created as an agency of the National Liberation Forces, until 1996, year of the first International Meeting for Humanity and Against Neoliberalism, organized in Mexican jungle, the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (ELZN) lived a slow and decisive transformation: from a classic guerrilla to a pacific movement which builds "one world that fits many worlds", through the invention of practices of participation and communication. This text analyses these new ways of doing politics that are being cultivated between the ELZN and what it calls "civil society", the countless groups connected to it through communication and solidarity ties.
