Abstract
This interview addresses aspects of the life, career and publishing practices of the retired USP professor, literary critic and editor Valentim Facioli, in regard to his dedication to the work of Machado de Assis. He currently heads Editora Nankin, and instead of teaching Machado de Assis, he edits studies on the writer and unpublished works by the writer, such as A poesia completa (2014) and the Badaladas do Sr. Semana (2019).
