The present research has as a central motto, the analysis of historical and sociopolitical process that raised the promotion of Crajubar urban agglomerated, these one, formed by the three major cities of cearense Cariri, to a metropolitan condition. In Brazil, the metropolitan region process of institutionalization has become recourse, especially in the last two decades, watt as awaken some perplexities between different territorial politics studious of metropolis and metropolitan dynamic. In the specific case of the emergence of Cariri Metropolitan Region - RMCariri, we have privileged the analysis of territorial and historical attributes that, in a certain measure, legitimated this conception.
