In this paper the authors propose a new specie under Acanthocolpus Lühe, 1906 also reafirms this genus for the first time in Brasil. Acanthocolpus brasiliensis sp. n. differs from the other species of the genus by presenting folicular vitellaria in almost the hole area of the posterior part of the body, by the absence of spines in vagina and in ejaculatory duct. A. brasiliensis sp. n. is similar to A. orientalis Srivastava, 1939, which differs also by the size of the body, cirrus sac and vagina.
