Four species of proteocephalids (Cestoda) in Phractocephalus hemilopterus, a fish from Amazom river, are described and commented including a new species, Myzophorus woodlandi sp.n. which is described and compared with the other species of the genus. This species was found among the specimens of M. pirarara Woodland, 1935, but it is easily distinguished by its segments not laciniated and other characteristics.
