ABSTRACT
The article points out how Rodrigo Naves’ critical method incorporates and revises aspects of the philosopher José Arthur Giannotti’s thought. To this end, it highlights how ideas from Giannotti’s Trabalho e reflexão (1983) about the representation of social phenomena are elaborated in two essays on Alberto da Veiga Guignard:“O olhar difuso”(1986) and “O Brasil no ar: Guignard”(1996), the latter included in the book A forma difícil (1996).
