Crime, War and Peace: Political Cognitive Dissention in Times of Extermination

ABSTRACT

This paper addresses the political cognitive dissention around the concept of “war” and, from the stand of view of “crime”, analyzes the ethic reflection that forges and moves “warriors” in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Based on two ethnographic scenes, reflects upon how “criminals” seek to build valorous forms of life amid the conduction towards death and by the means of memorable acts, courage of public exposure, and responsibility for the word.
