The purpose of this article is to point out the contributions of Guerreiro Ramos to the critical management studies, highlighting his anticipation over the propositions of this research area on organizational studies. Beyond that, the article also makes an effort to reveal the bases of his critical organization sociology, which helped him to build a new form of organizational analysis. His theory is still precious for many scholars that work on this thematic. To accomplish this purpose, we examine the most important works of the author, through a careful analytical structure. In the end, we evaluate the limitations of this research and make recommendations for futures works. It is emphasized that retrieving Guerreiro Ramos’ thought is a way to preserve the force of the critical movement in Administration Science.
