A empresa familiar Cachorro Quente do Rosário: entre a antropologia e a administração

This research aims to analyze how family concepts developed by Anthropology can contribute to understand a familial company. Through an ethnographic research, we identified and analyzed the familial arrangements found in Cachorro Quente do Rosário, verified how the familiar relationships affect the company's management and how the professional relations affect the familiar ones, as well as verified how financial and emotional interests are managed in the company. It was used, for this matter; theories concerning familial companies in Administration field, and the support of Anthropologic area regarding family and its relations. The results showed that the definitions of nuclear family, peculiar to middle class family, stated by Administration theory do not reach the family structure found at Cachorro Quente do Rosário. This happens because of its popular class characteristics, in which solidarity ties overcome the blood ones. Nevertheless, professional relations overcome the familiar ones inside the company, due to the importance given to competence, performance, attitude and commitment showed by the employees, being them part of the family or not.
