The objective is to identify the dimension of the executive"s educational competence to act as a learning and education manager, along with his team in work settings. The field research consisted of fourteen individual in-depth interviews with operational bank managers and a HR manager in a public bank of the State of Sao Paulo. The results showed the manager"s perceptions of their role in the learning and education process as well as the use of some pedagogic resources. It brought out the need for changes. From mechanical models of teaching and training toward more humanistic and interactive models, focused on self-learning and self-development.
