Critical Management Studies (CMS) have been utilized for many organizational researches. In CMS have Marxists neo-Marxists and Foucaultians thoughts. Foucault’s analytical view emerges as an alternative to organizational researches that study power as a subject. Although, for such studies to represent the analytical view of power established by Michel Foucault, it is necessary to understand what is a genealogy research. The aim of this article is to clarity with a bibliographic what is a genealogical research and its relation with foucaultian analytical view of power, and showing the right way to use Foucault’s thought in the organizational studies.
