his article's main objective is to make an analysis of the paternal image (paternalism, practices of godfathers, etc.) in Brazil, arguing that this is one of the forms that domination occurs in organizations working here. It analysis the meaning of brazílian colonization process detaching the indigenous resistance to the imported system of accumulation. It analysis the meaning and the role of paternal image and paternal function, identifying 'domino effect' in the relation of the fathers of the fathers. From this base, it proposes an analogy among the figures represented by the manager and the settler in organizations working in Brazil, through the paternal image.
