INFORMATION AND INTERSECTIONALITY IN LIBRARIANSHIP: THE SOCIAL POLITICAL REPRESENTATIVENESS FROM AUDRE LORDE

ABSTRACT

This article presents a discursive panorama that seeks to present the reader with a possible and emerging scenario in the search for the construction of an intersectional epistemic-political context in Brazilian Librarianship. It aims to present the political, social and informational representation of Audre Lorde in social movements, highlighting the way in which narratives are constructed in line with the social markers mentioned, in Brazilian Librarianship. As methodological aspects of this study, we developed a bibliographical, documentary and exploratory research, accessing productions by Audre Lorde and other intersectional black intellectuals, in addition to studies produced in Librarianship on class, race and gender. Finally, we point out that in Librarianship, the search for the strengthening of new theoretical discussions is an example of the need to use intersectionality as an analytical tool, since the hegemony of certain theories in the formation of the librarian person contributes/contributed to the growing social inequalities, perpetuating the absence of intersectional discussions in the practice of the librarian.
