ABSTRACT
The design of the deontologic codes for professional ethics, in this case for librarians, must consider and settle manifestly values that are recognized by the epistemic community. Once established, must be other processes in the design of the code: the values must be incorporated holistically and corresponding to the enunciation of the rules, the foundation must be solid and robust, but the degree of adoption of any theory must be weighed, so the logical and empirical relevance of standards should be assessed.
