César Ades

This article is a tribute to the illustrious professor César Ades (1943-2012). Ethologist and an expert in animal behavior, Ades was a professor at the Institute of Psychology of the University of São Paulo (IPUSP), working as a lecturer in the Department of Experimental Psychology. The article describes part of his rich academic and professional life and presents a brief trajectory of his career at the University of São Paulo as a student, teacher, researcher, advisor, and his position as an administrator at the Institute of Psychology and the Institute for Advanced Studies, in addition to his role at the Paulista Academy of Psychology and scientific societies. Finally, it highlights the importance of his contributions to the field of psychology and his respect for life, people and animals.
