Abstract:
The Psychology Councils system fulfills the institutional function of supervising and guiding the professional practice of psychology in Brazil. Its guidance must involve policies and actions that offer the category access to advances in scientific knowledge and intervention methods, sharing successful experiences that contribute to collective learning. The Diálogos journal fulfills this role by primarily addressing the public involved in providing services to populations in various contexts. This study traces the trajectory of this dissemination vehicle over its 19 years of existence, highlighting topics that underwent discussion and analysis in its various issues. Results show the extent to which the journal has been an important tool in constructing an ethical, scientifically based, and socially committed professional performance model, materializing the political guidelines of the council system the category endorsed in the evaluated period.
