In this article, we question the legitimacy of the use of the term insight in Psychoanalysis, in order to see if it is adequate to represent what is sought by an analysis. We discuss its concordance with the principles that base the Psychoanalysis and that regulate its practice. We build up our argumentation based on the senses that are indicated in the term insight, as a common word and as a psychoanalytical concept.
