The participants were 201 mental health workers who were working in psychiatric hospitals and substitutive services in Goiânia. It was analyzed the correlation between the adhesion to the mental health theoretical model (biological versus psychosocial), workers' satisfaction with their professional activities, local of work (substitutive services versus psychiatric hospitals), time of work, working hours per day and the psychological and physical well-being. It was found that workers that were highly identified with the biological paradigm and were highly satisfied with their professional activities have presented the highest levels of well-being.
