Effect of herbicides on growth and nutrient content in Arachis Hypogaea L. I. Soil incorporated herbicides

The effect of triflurali n, at 0,60 and 0,92 kg/ha, and vernolate at 2,52 and 3,60 kg/ha, soil incorporated on growth and macronutrients content of groundnuts, was studied in two field trials, on sandy -loam and clay soils. Nutr ient content was determined in the fourth leave at flowering and in seeds, at harvest, when also oil content was analysed. The crop growth was observed by means of dry matter weight of leaves, stems and pods, during the cycle, and yield measured at its end. There was a slight reduction in growth, during the first half part of the cycle, when the higher rates of trifluralin and vernola te was applied on clay soil. The contents of N, P, K, Ca, Mg and S were no affected on leaves or seeds b y any treatment in both experiments as to oil. The yield was not affected either, by any treatment.
