Physical characteristics, such as, molecular weight, molecular weight distribution and branching, have a significant influence on polybutadiene processability. Thus, a balance should exist in these characteristics for good mechanical properties and processability. This work brings a brief review of the influence of structural characteristics on the processability of polybutadiene produced by different catalyst systems. Also presented are some techniques from the literature aimed at improving processability of this elastomer.
