Abstract

This article analyzes the teacher resignation process and its relationship with working conditions of the São Paulo state education network. The discussion is based on a bibliographic research about the topic and on a statistical analysis of data from 2012 to 2018, as well as on information from semi-structured interviews with teachers from the education network. The data show high and constant rates of resignation in that period and highline that the resignation can be considered the final moment of a resignation process strongly influenced by dissatisfaction with working conditions, especially with career, salary, working hours and the organization and structure of the São Paulo state education network.
