This study aimed to identify educational styles in teachers’ practices and their relationship with academic achievement at different socio-economic levels. A questionnaire was developed to assess the educational styles of the teachers. We defined educational styles based on criteria that varied along dimensions such as culture, teacher’s role, pedagogical orientation, or attitude in relation to failure. A questionnaire was also used to gather information about socio-economic level and academic achievement of the pupils. The results identified different educational practices and showed a relationship between a non-reproductive educational practice and higher academic achievement in children of low socio-economic level.
