HEALTH PROMOTION AND PUBLIC POLICIES OF ALCOHOL IN BRAZIL: INTEGRATIVE LITERATURE REVIEW

The harmful use of alcohol is a serious public health problem that has negative consequences for the individual, family and society. The study aimed to investigate the inclusion of health promotion in the context of public policies of alcohol in Brazil. We conducted an integrative literature review and were selected four official documents and fifteen articles for analysis. Inclusion criteria were: being full article research; be published in Portuguese, English or Spanish; be available electronically and address the issue under study. The public alcohol policies discuss health promotion so still punctual, with strategies aimed at harm reduction. The literature highlights the need for a revision of public policies on alcohol in order to prioritize health promotion and assistance in the various levels of health care for vulnerable groups such as women, adolescents and indigenous.
