Risk, vulnerability and infancy: some approaches

In the present article, we aimed to understand the way in which the notion of infancy in risk situation is constituted, articulating it as a governability strategy. For this, we discussed how this concept is used in the extent of public policies of attention to the infancy. It was started from the displacement of the focus on life administration, exactly as it was proposed by a disciplinary society, for an administration of the risk, in which the new biopower modalities become the main administration strategies. Nowadays, the risk matter is operated starting from the power mechanisms, becoming a privileged instrument of the control society. From this point of view, we discussed how the risk notion emerges in the extent of public policies of attention to the infancy, culminating in the equation: infancy + poverty = vulnerability = risk = danger. To conclude, we suggested to shuffle the equation, to think about the coming time not as a future, but as a time to come.

Risk; vulnerability; public policies; governamentality
