ABSTRACT
This paper analyzes the process of production of identities/differences in the context of the Pedagogy of Alternation. The study is situated in the field of Cultural Studies, in its intersection with Social Psychology. Firstly, it is argued that identities/differences are not natural; rather, they are produced. Secondly, the investigation paths and the instruments used (interviews, observations and analysis of the curriculum documents) are presented. Finally, the results are shown, evidencing that the Pedagogy of Alternation, whose objective is to value the rural subjects and their identity, has produced some differences as undesirable and deviant, hence, they should be either corrected or excluded.
