Children's conception of death

This essay reflects on the concept of death in childhood based on speeches of four children between three and four years old, submitted to psychological evaluation from 2008 to 2011. To support the study, is used as theoretical support Aberastury (1984), Bromberg (1996, 1998), Torres (2002) and Kovács (2002) which deal with child's perception of the death. It is visible that the discussion on the theme involves anxiety, fears and silences, especially when it requires dialogue with children. Following are addressed issues related to the language, based on Bakhtin, Piaget and Vygotsky in order to support the discussion about the processing of death by child through language.

death; childhood; language
