This research investigated the children's conceptions about AIDS. A questionnaire was applied to 55 children from age nine to 12 about their knowledge on AIDS, its cause, prevention and its presence in their daily life. The results showed that the children are making a connection between AIDS and sex. Many myths and preconceptions appeared in the children's answers. We assume that the means of communication have not target this age group on their preventive campaigns against AIDS.
