ABSTRACT
The central postulate refers to an exercise of recovery of the category of divine philanthropy in Gregory of Nyssa, from which a connection is established with Christian life, as its model and foundation. The process starts from an exploration of the category in question in Greek philosophy, then, the use given to it in the Judeo-Christian environment, particularly in Philo of Alexandria, Clement of Alexandria, Origen of Alexandria and Athanasius of Alexandria. The exercise of reflection on the connection between divine philanthropy and Christian life can serve as an inspiration to redefine Christian life at the beginning of this century and millennium.
