The Exercise of the Sensus Fidelium in the Synod of the Diocese of Tubarão

ABSTRACT

The article reports the experience of personal participation and makes a brief analysis of the Synod of the Diocese of Tubarão in the 1980s. The Synod involved 53 parishes and 600 communities that it comprised. Initially, the synod presented the preparation and the realization of the process, in view of the reprojecting of the being and the doing of the Church in the Diocese, through participative pastoral planning, in a decentralized form, from the bottom up. Next, the main results of the Synod are presented and a brief analysis is made, especially from the challenges raised. The report highlights some considerations on the exercise of participation in the synodal process and the implications thereof, the interaction between popular knowledge and academic knowledge in the pastoral action, ending with the conversion to reality as a way of conversion to the Gospel.
