ABSTRACT
The debate on Integral ecology has recently gained enormous relevance in theological and pastoral reflections, especially after Pope Francis’ Encyclical Laudato Si’ (2015). It has been approached from various perspectives, based on the conviction that “everything is interconnected”. This article discusses integral ecology in the light of biblical prophecy, through the lens of justice, in connection with mercy, right and fidelity, as well as with shalom; the interaction of all the components of human reality. Integral ecology is thus revealed as integral humanity and its aspects of fraternity, respect for human dignity, and care for our brothers and sisters.
