The increase of translated texts and academic research into the reichian field enhances the need to be attentive to the translation quality of Reich's texts to Portuguese. Taking the word Trieb as an example, the aim of this article was to identify the terms that were used to translate such word to Portuguese. The results demonstrated, as it occurs in the translations of Freud's work, that the most common terms are: pulsation, instinct and impulse. Such variation of terms reinforces the necessity to analyze different translations of the same article, to compare translated texts with original texts and to bind to the rightful use of specific terms, helping one to read, in the best possible way, Reich's original ideas in Portuguese.
