The toxicity of writing as a vicissitude of sublimation in the work of David Foster Wallace

The author discusses the concept of sublimation in view of Freud's second theory of drive conflict, exemplified in the cases of various suicidal writers, including David Foster Wallace, for the purpose of examining the functional and dysfunctional aspects of sublimation in the creation of literature.
