The area of behavior and health has been developed in terms of research and application, and its terminology and concepts depend upon theoretical references. It seems that nowadays there is a consensus that the area must involve prevention, treatment and multidisciplinary work, organized according to parsimonious and experimental standards which continue to be developed, in order to define the mechanisms involved and appropriate interventions.
