The objective of this article is to discuss the changes introduced in the human resources management of a telecommunications company, from 1998 to 2003. The human resources practices and management were analyzed after the privatization, comparing the changes and innovations incorporated during the period of reorganization until the implementation of a new administration model. The study comprised a research where interviews, analyses and bibliographical searches were used as data sources. The theoretical framework tried to contextualize the transformations that served as background for the changes that occurred in the company. A new administration model was identified in the organization which developed from the 1998 model, but that still works in a passive way in the implementation of changes during the period.
