The area studied is a secondary forest of approximately 40 ha, located in Viçosa, Zona da Mata Minas Gerais at 20º45' S and 42º55' W coordinates and 680 m altitude. The mean annual temperature ranges from 14.6 ºC to 21.8 ºC and the mean annual precipitation is 1.220 mm. The vegetation is classified as Semideciduous Seasonal Forest. The floristic survey carried out in the area reported 197 species distributed among 53 families and 134 genera. The floristcs found was qualitatively compared with other arboreal flora works carried out in the southeast and south of Brazil.
