The developing fruit and seed of Pilocarpus pennatifolius were investigated. The fruit is schizocarpic with one to five mericarps. The endocarp is sclerified and originates from the inner epidermis of the ovary. The endocarp participates actively in the dehiscence of the fruit. The seed is campylotropus, bitegmic and mesotestal.
