Endoscopic harvest of internal thoracic artery with robotic assistance

Robotic surgery is today a reliable method to reduce trauma and related comorbidities in cardiac surgery. In our institucion, robotic assistance has been effectively used for thoracoscopic implantation of epimyocardial leads for biventricular pacing. The objective of this article is to describe the technique that we developed to dissect the internal thoracic artery using thoracoscopy assistance with AESOP robotic system and to report the initial results obtained with its use in nine patients.
