Abstract
The aim of the present study was to investigate dissatisfaction with body image among blind individuals. 45 blind individuals of both sexes, aged between 18 and 69 years, participated in the study. The Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) was used to gather data relating to body image dissatisfaction. 24.4% of the subjects presented some dissatisfaction with their body image. These data did not present any statistical significant difference. It was concluded that the blind subjects presented low levels of body dissatisfaction when compared to normal individuals.
