ABSTRACT
The aim of the study was to identify the personal trainer career development cycles. An instrument that addressed sociodemographic and professional aspects was applied to 101 personal trainers. Then, a semi-structured interview was carried out with 24 professionals to obtain information that was not evidenced at first. The results show that the personal trainer has four career cycles, namely: Entry into the Job Market, Exploration and Stabilization, Reassessment and Insecurity and Decline or Giving up. It is concluded that the personal trainer initially enjoys a notorious professional ascension, followed by financial and labor insecurity, which results in an early change of area of expertise.
