Abstract
Representations and senses attributed to the body could vary due to social and cultural conditions. The aim of this paper is to investigate and to compare how Physical Education professional deals with different body conceptions. Ethnographic interviews were applied to 29 professionals who worked in fitness centers of different sizes and in a variety of locals in Rio de Janeiro. Results indicated singularities according to the different social contexts that must be considered by Physical Education professionals according to the public.
