ABSTRACT
The aim was to compare the assigned importance (AI) and the perceived domain (PD) of knowledge and competences of rugby coaches in the national youth championship. Coaches from state rugby teams (n=19) answered the Coach Knowledge and Competences Questionnaire on AI and PD classified on a Likert scale. Wilcoxon test was performed to compare AI and PD. The results related to knowledge showed significantly higher AI than PD. In competences, only the item “planning a training session” showed no significant difference between AI and PD. It is concluded that AI is higher PD in several questions related to the knowledge and perceived skills of youth rugby coaches.
