This study addresses the applicability of the concepts of health in its broadest sense, by the Physical Education teachers in the school in Fortaleza / CE. This is a qualitative study, analytical-critical, where we used the method of Content Analysis. That done, we conducted interviews with nine teachers, and listed the following analytical categories: reasons for using the health issue in classes about physical activity and health, and teaching methodologies. We conclude that in general, teacher's concept of health adopted is not taken into its broad sense, therefore, it is necessary to overcome individual and biological aspects of their practices and f or a new direction from the collective.
