The intention of this article is to reflect on the making of the masculinity and perceptions of ageing in the sport field through the 1950's world cup's remembrances. In order to reveal the discourses produced by the written media were used as documents the Estado de Minas journal, O Cruzeiro magazine and the accounts of actors that somehow attended and/or wrote about the event.
